Brothers

This picture is seems so sweet and innocent but I just know that Caiden is thinking,
"Lil' Bro...Sometimes I just don't get you!"

Whatever happened to...

Hootie and the Blowfish (remember, the band from the 90s), you ask? Well, Hootie's real name is Darius Rucker and he now has a country CD out that is a huge hit. Dale and I got a chance to see Darius for FREE (thanks Shelby for setting up with tix) on Monday night. He was In - Cred - Ible! He sang several songs from his country album along with 2 Hootie & the Blowfish songs (Hold my Hand, Let Her Cry) and a few hits by other artists, including the Prince song, "Purple Rain." Here's the performance we saw. Go ahead...its worth the click!

Caiden Gets His Wings

"Come to the edge," he said.
"No," they said. "We are afraid."
"Come to the edge," he said.
They came, he pushed them and they flew.

Today was Caiden's first day of kindergarten. Our little boy flew a little higher on his own this morning. I know he was nervous because he didn't say much all morning. But, he seemed to settle in when we got there. I, on the other hand, am wondering how I'm going to make it until pick up time to see how he did.

Getting to the school.

He found his seat and settled in.

A final hug from little brother.

Back in February 2007, a wise young lady (Thanks, Ms. Joby) emailed me a Bible verse that she thought fit Caiden perfectly...

"But Samuel, though he was only a boy, served the Lord. He wore a linen
garment like that of a priest." 1 Samuel 2:18

Lord, I pray that Caiden continues to be your helper, your servant and grows in your ways. Help us, as his parents, to guide him. Protect him Lord and may he serve you in a mighty way so that you can be glorified through his life. Amen.

The boys' new room

In July, we moved the boys in to one room together to prepare for the new baby's arrival in October. To help with this transition, we re-decorated the room so it was new for both of them. Here are the pics. We're pretty pleased with it! Now, we just have to get motivated to work on the nursery.

Dawson's Birthday at Chuck-e-Cheese

We celebrated Dawson's birthday with a trip to Chuck-e-Cheese. We paid the extra to have Chuck-e bring the cake and sing "Happy Birthday." It was extra-special. He wasn't too sure of him at first but then warmed up a bit. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

New Mom Gadget

Recently I purchased 2 dripstiks. Have you seen these? Here Dawson is holding the blue one and Caiden has a green one. On one end is a notch to hold a popsicle stick and the other end holds the cone of an ice cream cone. Then, there is a small edge around each end to catch all of your child's drips. They are amazing and I just had to share this with you. Here's another tip...I just saw them being sold at Walmart in the freezer section for $2.00. That's a lot better deal than I paid. They work really well in the car.

Our trip to Holiday World

We went to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana in July. Its a great amusement park. They have a regular amusement park and a water park that is included in the days' admission. I didn't take any photos at the water park, though. The boys loved it. Papa and Grammie joined us. Caiden is already asking when we can go again.

Happy #3 Birthday Dawson!

Your entry in to this world was routine but little did we know that our life would be anything but when you came along. You've brightened our world in more ways than one.

You have a kooky, fun, loving, sweet, all-boy side of you that comes out just about every minute of the day.

You are definately a momma's boy that keeps me hopping but you love your daddy and brother very much too.

We're crazy about you and can't wait to see what God has in store for your life. We know its going to be something awesome with the spunky, spontaneous personality that He's given you.

We love you, precious boy. Happy #3 Birthday!
