Our Old California Home

We bought this house in Southern California in 1997 and lived in it until 2003 when we moved to Tennessee. It will always have a special place in our hearts since it was our first home together. We put vinyl siding and shutters on it...not something you see in this area of the country. Most everything is stuccoed.

There are some days when I wish I could drive 15 minutes (which we used to do) and see this!

Dawson's Last Day

Dawson's final day of school for this year was last Thursday. He looked so cute for his end-of-year program.

Flyday not Saturday

We had a "flyday" where we packed a picnic lunch and took all of our flying toys to a local park. We had a blast!

...liftoff! We had 2 successful launches and one successful landing. Our hand-built rocket (by Dale and the boys) now resides in a nice Cedar tree at Hilltop-Rosenwald Park.

Cole's First Fishing Trip

We spent a beautiful afternoon in late April fishing at a local boat launch area. It was Cole's first fishing trip. Fun was had by all...even the fish, who managed to escape being caught by any of our poles.




Despite Dawson's face in this picture, the boys had a wonderful time.

Ok, so I didn't fish but I supervised from the trenches!

Field Day 2010

Caiden's elementary school hosted a field day for the students. They spent 2 hours outside competing against another class in various "field" events.

Go River Bandits!

The spring baseball season is under way! We only have 3 more games to play before playoffs begin. Caiden is on the River Bandits. Caiden has been playing in the catcher position. He is enjoying it except that he says the equipment is very hot. So far, the team record is 10-0. They are having a great season!

Tonsils, adenoids and tubes, Oh my!

Dawsons had his tonsils and adenoids removed and another set of tubes put in on Friday, May 7th. It was a long week of recovery following but he's back 100 % now. We're hoping that we have great results when we return to the doctor in early June. He was such a trooper through the surgery and the recovery. We love you lil' guy!

The Cardinal Chase

The school that Caiden attends held their annual fundraiser, The Cardinal Chase in April. The kids raise money for various things around the school and run laps to earn that money. Givers can either pledge a whole amount or per lap. This year's Cardinal Chase theme was "Its a Jungle at the Creek." Here's Caiden decked out in his jungle gear.
