Santa's Prayer on Christmas Eve
by Warren D. Jennings
The sleigh was all packed, the reindeer were fed,
But Santa still knelt by the side of the bed.
"Dear Father," he prayed, "be with me tonight.
There's much work to do and my schedule is tight.
I must jump in my sleigh and streak through the sky,
Knowing full well that a reindeer can't fly.
I will visit each household before the first light.
I'll cover the world and all in one night.
With sleigh bells a-ringing, I'll land on each roof,
Amid the soft clatter of each little hoof.
To get in the house is the difficult part,
So I'll slide down the chimney of each child's heart.
My sack will hold toys to grant all their wishes.
The supply will be endless like the loaves and the fishes.
I will fill all the stockings and not leave a track.
I'll eat every cookie that is left for my snack.
I can do all these things, Lord, only through You,
I just need your blessing, then it's easy to do.
All this is to honor the birth of the One,
That was sent to redeem us, Your most Holy Son.
So to all of my friends, least Your glory I rob,
Please, Lord, remind them who gave me this job."
Wishing you the joy and peace of the season!

Christmas must be something more
I've own a lot of Christmas CDs. I try to buy one each year. This year's purchase was the Taylor Swift Christmas cd. I love it and have listened to it often. There is one song in particular that I really like and wanted to share with you. It totally reminds me of the true reason for the season - JESUS! It's entitled, "Christmas Must Be Something More." Its well worth the download on iTunes. In the meantime, here are the lyrics. Check it out.
Christmas Must Be Something More
What if ribbons and bows didn't mean a thing
Would the song still survive without 5 golden rings
Would you still wanna kiss without mistletoe
What would happen if God never let it snow
What would happen if Christmas Carols told a lie
Tell me what you would find
You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more
What if angels did not pay attention to
All the things that we wish they would always do
What if happiness came in a cardboard box
Then I'd think there was something we all forgot
What would happen if presents all went away
Tell me what would you find
You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more
We get so caught up in all of it
Business and relationships
100 mile an hour lives
And it's this time of year
And everybody's here
It seems the last thing on your mind
You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to Jesus Christ who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something more
There's gotta be more

The boys say "thank you"
Dear Ms. Chelle:
You know how much we love that "toy" movie that has a cowboy and space ranger in it. And, we know how much you love making clothes pin dolls of everyone's favorite movie characters. So, thank you for making ones for us. We love them. Listen carefully for the big thank you in this video.
Love,
Caiden & Dawson

Check this out...Skinny Songs
I saw this on the news on Monday night and thought it was so interesting. Check out http://www.skinnysongs.com/
Are you struggling with your weight and trying to get in to those "skinny" jeans once again? The creator of Skinny Songs CD found herself in that very same situation. Being totally inspired by music, she found that there wasn't anything out there helping her burn calories and remind her (through the music lyrics) why she was working so hard to get the weight off. So, she wrote songs about losing weight, put it to music and created the Skinny Songs CD.
I think its pretty neat! Let me know what you think.

Creation Fascination
The last several weeks Caiden, along with the other preschoolers in the Kids Klub class at our church, has been learning the story of creation and exactly what God made or did each of the 7 days. Its been an incredible journey for the kids. Each week, they made a page that coincided with the days' lesson. The pages eventually became a booklet (shown here). It is one of the neatest things Caiden has done at church and something that will help him remember God's creation for all of his days. Thank you for all your help and hard work - Carrie, Jody, Debby, Joby, Darien, Katlyn, Dorothy, Rebecca, Janet, Julie and the others I may have forgotten.
Just in case you need a quick creation lesson, here's what God made or did each of those 7 days (from the preschool standpoint). Go to Genesis 1:1 to read all about it.
Day 1: God made light and dark.
Day 2: God made sky and water.
Day 3: God made land, plants and sea.
Day 4: God made the sun, moon, stars, day and night.
Day 5: God made fish and birds.
Day 6: God made animals. God also made people.
Day 7: God rested.

Caiden's Combine Adventure
While in Michigan for Thanksgiving, one of the area farmers still had some corn to harvest. Papa arranged for Caiden to get a real combine ride. He loved it! He also fell asleep while on the ride. But Papa says that "harvesting corn is mesmerizing so you often fall asleep." That's scary to think because Papa was once a farmer and I'm sure he must have fallen asleep a time or two. Watch out for those farmers and their combines...you never know when one will fall asleep.

What R U laughing at?
Caiden & Dawson are pictured here with my best friend Mandy's boys, Karson & Sawyer. Its amazing to think that Mandy and I have been friends since 2nd grade and managed to stay in touch all these years.
Isn't this picture the cutest? I have no idea what they are laughing at but its awful funny (actually, I think Grammie was standing next to me making faces). Thank God for laughter, fun and good friends!

Dawson's Snow Ride
Dawson liked to play in the snow much better this year than last year. He really enjoyed eating most of it!
