A Personal Goal...

...accomplished! I completed my first 5K this past Saturday at the Nashville Predators Fangtastic event. I couldn't have done it without the support of my great family and friends, especially Cliff & Val who never left my side the whole race. We had so much fun. We're looking forward to who we can recruit to run with us next year!

Dale, Caiden and Dawson decorated our refrigerator with special banners that they colored. They read "Go Mommy Go!"

It's all about the shoes

In just 2 short days (oh my!), I will run my first 5k, the Predators Fangtastic 5K. Am I nervous? Naw...I'm petrified! But, one thing I do have going for me - I bought new shoes about 2 weeks ago. And, from what I hear from seasoned runners, the shoes help a lot. Get ready Nashville 'cause all you are going to see is the blue streaks off these sneakers (ok, I know...its wishful thinking, but can't a girl hope?!).

The Red Bandanna

I put a red bandanna on my head yesterday as I prepared to go running. When I stepped outside, this conversation took place between Caiden and Jules, our little neighbor girl.
Jules: Hey Caiden, look at your mom.
Caiden: Yeah, she looks like a pirate!
I just had to say "argh!" under my breath. Those comments kept me smiling during my run.

Back on track

I've been getting back-on-track recently by running. However, I haven't set any goals until now. I just registered for my first 5K ever. It is the Predators 5K run on Saturday, February 14th, starting at the Sommet Center, downtown Nashville. If you are interested in joining me, go here.

I have never been a runner until recently so I don't expect to be competitive as a finisher. However, it is a fitness goal of mine and is helping me get my weight back under control. It will definately be interesting!
