The Rock

I'm thinking we're "working out" a little too much at the Y. What do you think?

Thank you to Amy for these wonderful hand-me-downs. Caiden has enjoyed playing "the Rock" at home. They make wonderful noises when you hit stuff too. That's the best part (wink, wink)!

Good Ol' Aches & Pains

We weighed in this morning and I was down...2.4 pounds! Yeah! I was so excited. I cannot, however, take credit for eating really well this week. I had a few weak moments earlier on in the week.

I do have to credit my weight loss this week to exercise. I recently started incorporating running in to my exercise routine. For the first time in my life, I am enjoying it. Each time I worked out this week I ran for one mile (which took me about 15 minutes) and then did 20 minutes of other cardio, along with some weights and crunches. I think that has helped me a lot(even though my hips hurt so bad this morning I could hardly get out of bed and took 3 ibuprofen for breakfast!). Gotta love those good ol' aches & pains.

Maybe just mixing up the routine has helped too. I hope you have had a great week and are staying on track with your exercise goals!

Check This Out

I haven't blogged much about my position as a family ministry director but I wanted to tell you guys about a new blog for parents (from children ages 0-18) that my team has put together. I'm very proud of it. Its been truly God inspired. I'd love for you to check it out. You'll find it at:

http://rscparentpage.blogspot.com/

It is a resource for parents of our home church, Rock Springs Church in Smyrna, TN but I think our team will have lots of great ideas and thoughts that could be shared with parents all over the country. So, check it out and leave us some comments. We'd love for this to become a forum for all Christian parents to discuss the "real" issues we are all dealing with.

The Weekend After

Here it is the weekend after and it seems like my valentine's day dread turned in to too many treats anyway and I gained a little this week. I'm really focused to get that 1.4 off this week though so watch out world...I may just be running to all my weekly errands. Oh, but I have to take the kids so they'll be in their car seats (remember safety first!) strapped to my back. Can you picture it? I hope you had a wonderful "love" day.

Valentine's Day dread

This past week hasn't been bad. Last Saturday, I was down by 1 pound which is ok for me. I wish it would have been more.

Then, later this week is Valentine's Day! I really want to celebrate and go out to dinner and splurge but this whole watching my weight thing has gotten in the way. I don't enjoy gorging myself anymore. In many ways, I'm so glad that I don't feel that anymore but I really used to like to eat! I still want to eat but I really don't want the weight to pile back on. Guess I need to be quiet about it, be thankful for my weight loss so far and and keep on track, huh?!! Maybe Dale will take me to a place that serves awesome salads - does that exist? But I'm definately having popcorn when we go to the movies that night!

Anyone follow this blog? Thanks for listening and Happy Valentine's Day.

Just An Update

Even though I'm still trying to recover from feeling like my behind is "shmooshie" I had a pretty good week last week in the weight loss department. On Saturday at our weigh in, I was down 1.6 pounds. It is nothing like those "Biggest Loser" contestants have been losing but its good for a busy mom like me.

I went to the Y today and worked out. It felt great after I was able to compose myself. Since I haven't been there in a week, I didn't realize they changed some of the class schedules. So the class that I usually attend at 9:30 am on Mondays got switched to 9:00 am and has another class that immediately follows it...Zumba. Ever done Zumba? Its a new exercise, dance craze thing. It's fun but it wore me out. Nap time for me! Catch ya'll later.
